Intermediate Performing Company (IPC)
The Intermediate Performing Company is a incredible team of dancers who love to dance, and want to take it to the next level and start competing. This team was created by, and is directed by Tricia Casamassima-Wood – an award-winning choreographer, director and coach at Power House of Dance for over a decade.
The IPC team is divided into different age groups; Minis- 4-6 years, Petites 6-9 years, and Juniors 9+ years. The IPC team also competes in the intermediate category at DFW-area dance competitions. The dancers who aspire to be on this award-winning team audition in the spring and/or summer when Power House holds their team auditions.
Once your dancer has made the team, he or she will have a mandatory ‘team class’ every week in which they will learn their dances they will compete with in the spring. They are also required to take up to 7 hours of technique classes each week comprising of ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop or acrobatics classes. The Director will help prescribe a schedule that will work best for your dancer and your family.
The confidence, growth in dance ability and overall improvement a parent sees in their dancer in just one year on a team is astounding. The IPC team has groomed hundreds of dancers that have won numerous dance scholarships and awards. Many have gone on to our Pre Professional Company or high school drill teams. Tricia is a confident Director with compassion and love for children. She is well known for her technical coaching, sincere personality and positive teaching style. She has a strong passion for training, coaching, mentoring and teaching children.
