Hip Hop Company
The Power House of Dance Hip Hop Crew is a group of dedicated dancers who are passionate about hip hop, and have a great desire to perform. What set us apart from other studios is our work ethic, skill level and desire for Urban Dance. We submerge our company members in Hip Hop culture by training a minimum of 8 hours a week in classes focusing on hip hop, b-boy/b-girl and tricking. Our Hip Hop Company is currently under the direction of the ICONIC Kevin Harris. Kevin began dancing Hip Hop with a national touring group called Rhythm Nation when he was 7 years old. In 2001, he was part of the inaugural class that opened the Debbie Allen Dance Academy (DADA), participating in establishing a standard of excellence for those students who followed. Ms. Debbie Allen fast-embraced Kevin and he is proud to be one of her “go to” dancers and choreographers. By his third year of study, Ms. Allen gave him the opportunity to become an Academy Hip Hop teacher and his choreography has been performed in her recitals for the last 3 years. He has performed in all of Ms. Allen’s original productions, and was Assistant Choreographer for her 2006 production “Bayou Legend.” Feeding his love of performing, Kevin has also been a featured concert performer for choreographers Dave Scott, Chuck Maldonado and Lizette & Shonique. Kevin has choreographed for the hit show Everybody Hates Chris, and recently NBCs new show About a Boy.
Besides teaching at the Debbie Allen Dance Academy, Kevin has taught Hip Hop classes in the Los Angeles Unified School District, for the after-school program, L.A.’s Best, P.S. Arts. Since September, 2006, Kevin has been touring all over Europe, Asia and South America with the singer, Fergie, as well as appearing on Jay Leno, Tyra Banks, MTV, Nickelodeon, Pepsi’s Super Bowl Smash, and the VH1 and Billboard awards shows.
