Kristi Bittenbender

Mrs. Bittenbender-Garner began her training at the age of three. At the age of nine she began her professional training with Vivi and Flemming Flindt at the Dallas Ballet Academy. Kristi has performed with the Dallas Ballet, Ballet Dallas, Texas City Ballet, Springcreek Ballet, Indianapolis Ballet, Ballet Arlington, Mesquite Repertory Ballet Company and Storybook Ballet Theatre amongst many more. Her favorite principle roles include those in ballets such as Raymonda, Giselle, Cinderella, Coppelia, Sleeping Beauty and The Nutcracker to name only a few.

Kristi was the owner and artistic director of Bittenbender Dance and Music Academy for over eight years in Mesquite, Texas. She has also been a certified member of Texas Association Teachers of Dance for twelve years. Kristi has been training dancers for over twenty-two years and has continued to gain recognition. In fact, many of her students have not only been accepted, but have also received scholarships into several nationally recognized schools across the United States, including San Fransisco Ballet, Kirov Academy of Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Boston Ballet, Inland Pacific Ballet, Houston Ballet, Ballet Austin and Ballet Magnificat among others.

Kristi was the founder and artistic director of the Mesquite Repertory Ballet and Storybook Ballet Theatre for ten years. She has created numerous full-length and chamber ballets, for example: The Nutcracker, Midsummer Night’s Dream, Cinderella, Snow White and Rose Red, The Stone Flower, Carmina Burana, Carnival of the Animals, Degas and the Little Dancer, Peter and the Wolf and The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. In addition, she has also worked as a freelance choreographer for both theatre and dance companies earning various awards and recognitions. Kristi has a wonderful husband and four beautiful children.
